News and Catch Reports Post New Entry

Catchup

Posted by WhiteSprings on June 25, 2010 at 4:39 AM

Website has been a bit quiet lately because I havent been able to get down to Springs to grab the catch reports due to ill health, also as no-one is sending in any of their catch reports even though we know fish are being banked I cannot print anything on the site so I will take oppertunity to verbally smack all of your hands and remind you all that you are able to post up your own reports and pictures to the site via the news and events page just sign in and click post new and also you can pm me through the site with any results etc etc if you dont want to post yourself.

I know that some have mentioned about the site being dormant over the last couple of months however please bear in mind that I cannot update the site unless I have this information either from Vince or yourselfs, I could post up what I have been up to over the last few weeks personally to fill in the time however I am sure your gonna get bored with that and unless i start dropping lines into my goldfish bowl i wont have many catch reports for you so please please please pm "whitesprings" on the site with any catch reports you have thanks. If you need to post up a picture then you can use http://tinypic.com/ to host and I will grab the picture from there and ftp it to the site. (No account is needed)

Anyway I finally got 5 minutes to drop into Vince last week and I can see that he and the lads there have been very busy over the last few months improving the grounds. He has put up two extra small lakeside shelter cabins on the Speci Lake and they should be finished at the time of writing, he has been working on improving the roads on site and has been re landscaping the area around the scandinavian cabins to make it look better and also to provide better access. There are posts up around the pegs now to stop people parking on the grass and a lot of the pegs have now been made larger and have been rebuilt and rebarked, a lot of the trees that have limted the angler from being able to cast have been removed or chopped back whilst at the same time still allowing there plenty of cover for the carp and other fish to hide and feed.

The road at the back of the new canal has been completed so that it allows people to park at the back of the canal and fish with ease.

And the new measures with regards to rubbish seems to be working and helping in keeping the place as litter free as possible, please dont forget to ask for a rubbish bag at the shop or take all rubbish home with you and if you see anyone being a litter bug report them to Vince.

The tackle shop has undergone a transformation to include a small coffee shop and you can now buy hot/cold food and tea and coffee on site as well as your usual items that are on sale there.

All in all Vince and the lads have been working very hard over the last few months in order to fufill the requests that have come in from you the fishermen. Dont forget to thank them when you see them.

I hear that Nash is coming to White Springs and I will post up more news as and when I get it. Over the next few days I will post up the news that I have been given.
