The last couple of weeks have been very mixed with the weather becoming very warm putting the fish from of from feeding a little, however in spite of this there have been some good catches in between with our Orange Koi that we weighed 5 years ago when we neeted the lake at 27 and a quarter lb got very close to being caught with two visiting anglers hooking into and losing it at the net. This is the closest that it has been to being caught.

Pat Conway from London on holiday was fishing on peg 2 on the specimen lake and technically wasnt trying to hard as he was only pleasure carp fishing on the lake, he was fishing mid water and hooked into and landed two grass carp at 24 and a half lb and a 22lb grass carp much to the amusement and annoyment of the dedicated specimen carp anglers with him. Good on you Pat show them how it is done eh?!

On the pleasure lake side Derek Giles fishing early morning using his usual favourite surface bait, floating dog biscuit landed a couple of 16 and 17 lb carp fishing from the top.

The new canal this week is the place to be fishing with carp to 12 -14 lb being landed along with the usual silvers. the pegs to be on seems to be 10-17 and all who have fished there have reported good catches.
