Match & Catch Reports for the Past Week.

The weather has been beautiful at the fishery this week with some days very hot.

On Saturday the fish started spawning big time on the Specimen Lake and we closed the lake for a week. Sorry to all the fishermen who were on the lake at the time for cutting your stay short and thank-you for being so understanding.

Wednesdays open was on The Match Lake. In 1st place was Alan Godrich on peg 9 weighing 119lb 5oz.

2nd was Andy Scott on peg 14 with 95lb 8oz.

3rd was Brian Protheroe on peg 19 with 83lb 9oz.

4th was Dan Bowen on peg 2 with 80lb 2oz.

White Springs Sunday open was on The New Canal and 1st on peg 20 was Rob Jones weighing 159lb 12oz.





2nd on peg 1 was Alan Godrich with 98lb 8oz.

3rd was peg 11 close behind with 98lb 2oz.

4th was Andy Rogers on peg 27 with 97lb 8oz.

Glamorgan Angling were on The Match Lake with 23 anglers. With only 3 pegs empty it fished quite well on a very hot day.

John Calley on peg 14 was 1st with 69lb 8oz.

2nd on peg 12 was Dean Jay with 53lb 4oz.

3rd on peg 15 was Johnny Cox with 43lb 2oz.

On the Big Pit Nick Parker had 15 fish all caught on The White Springs Banana.





Justin Davies also had a good session with 16 fish upto 15lb.

 

On the Pleasure Lake Tyrone was with Warren and Gary Lovell and had 40 carp between them up to 20lb all using White Springs Banana.

 

Andrew Rees was on 9A and beat his PB with a stunning mirror called ‘The Don’ weighing 37lb 8oz using CR baits.

Jamie Rutherford was on the Soil Shed and caught a lovely mirror ‘The Grey Lady’ weighing 30lb 10oz.





 

Lee Stokes was on peg 7 and had four 20+fish, the biggest a 28lb 1 mirror.





 

Ian Davies on Megs Corner had 2 fish; a 25lb 4oz common and a stunning 20lb 4oz ghosty that gave him a hell of a fight.





Martin Matthews on the Soil Shed had the gorgeous ‘Long Common’ at 29lb 14oz.

 

Stuart Little had his PB landing the cracking common ‘Bailey’ weighing in at 37lb 5oz.





 

Angler of the week was John Roach Junior all the way from Liverpool.

He had 9 fish including a 22lb grassy and in the last 30 hours he caught ‘Nessie’ a common weighing 32lb 5oz, ‘CTCs cousin’ a mirror at 31lb 3oz and ‘Charlie’ another mirror weighing 30lb 8oz. He was one happy lad driving back to Liverpool.

The Specimen Lake was closed on Saturday 17th and will re-open on Friday 30th June, Due to the fish spawning, sorry to any inconvenience.

All other Lakes are open as usual.

It’s been a wet week at the fishery this week but the fishing has been pretty good.

Wednesdays open was on the Pleasure Lake.

1st was Alan Godrich 41lb 8oz.

2nd John Charlesworth 34lb 12oz.

3rd Lou Spinks 33lb 4oz.

Sundays open was on the New Canal.

1st on peg 15 was Alan Godrich winning again using 10mm boilies.

2nd on peg 36 was Steve ‘beefy’ Beresford with 82lb 10oz.

3rd peg 10 was Dick Brunton with 69lb and close behind was Lou spinks on peg 5 with 68lb.

On the Big Pit Mike Jones did a 24 hour session and caught 13 carp up to 18lb 6oz using White Springs Banana Wafters.


On the Pleasure Lake 15yr old Luke Johnson had a cracking day catching 10 different species of fish including a 3lb 6oz Perch, 2lb Crucian, 12lb Carp, Bream, Tench and Golden Orfe.

On the Specimen Lake fishing on Megs Corner was White Springs manager Gavin Wellington who did very well having 10 takes and landing 9 including 2 20’s the biggest 24lb 8oz all caught on the new White Springs Banana Pastel.

Brad Peters on peg 3 had his first fish on the Specimen Lake, a beautiful 20lb Koi Carp.





Kris Jenkins did very well again fishing the Old Cabin landing 7 fish in total, including a mint 22lb ghost mirror,




26lb 8oz common and a lovely mirror known as ‘The Grey Lady’ weighing 31lb 5oz.





Chris Curran from Liverpool was on peg 11a and after 25minutes of his rods being in the water. He landed a new PB, a lovely mirror called ‘Captain Hook’ weighing 31lb 8oz.





Stuart Richards also had his PB, a lovely 21lb mirror fishing on Megs Corner.





Mark Powell was on cabin 11. He had 3 takes, a 21lber, he lost one at the net which was a lump, but 20 minutes later he was made up for his loss with a stunning common known as ‘Cheryl’ weighing 37lb 14oz and a new PB.

The fishing has been pretty good at the fishery this week.

Wednesdays open was on the Match Lake and on peg 19 Dan Bowen was first weighing 130lb 2oz.

2nd on peg 14 was Scott Ellery with 101lb 10oz.

3rd was Andy Rogers on peg 7 with 96lb 2oz.

Sundays open was on the New Canal and first on peg 23 was Alan Godrich with 98lb 12oz.

2nd was Steve Beresford on peg 19 with 47lb 8oz.

3rd was Lou Spinks with 44lb 10oz.

Aberglais were on the Match Lake and Bryan Protheroe on peg 13 was 1st with 68lb 15oz.

2nd on peg 11 was Justin Thomas with 56lb 9oz.

3rd Paddy Payne on peg 19 with 53lb.

4th was Ian Cathrew on peg 16 with 47lb 3oz.

On the Big Pit Justin Davies had a good 30 hour session landing 32 fish up to 18lb

On the Specimen Lake, Ian Davies had 3 fish up to 20lb 6oz including an Absolute monster of an F1 weighing exactly 10lb.





Neil Jenkins on peg 6a had his PB with a lovely mirror, The Don at 37lb 6oz.




Sam Owers fished the Island for 24hrs and was rewarded with Sonny a stunning common at 35lb and a new PB.




He then moved to peg 8 and had two more fish including an immaculate 28lb common all caught on CR bait.




Paco Joce was on peg 3a and landed a nice mirror weighing 28lb and it became his PB.




Johnathon Ace on 8a had a beautiful mirror weighing 28lb 10oz and his new PB.

Mick Hess on peg 7 had a pretty mirror called Charlie weighing 31lb 4oz.

Steffan Wolf fished the Island and had a 19lb 4oz mirror a new PB and then caught a 19lb 4oz common equalling his PB both caught on White Springs Cream and Toffee wafters.

Mike Buonaiuto on peg 8 had his PB with Jasper a common weighing 31lb 4oz.

Ross Downman fished 8a and beat his PB with a lovely mirror weighing 26lb 2oz.




Jamie Davies did a quick overnighter on peg 3 and caught a lovely 20lb common using White Springs Cream and Toffee. Well done everyone on your PB’s

Late May Match & Catch Results.

At White Springs this week it’s been mostly dry with a thunderstorm or two.

On the four Pleasure Lakes the fish have been spawning here and there.

On the Specimen Lake they were very close but with the storms and cooler temperature the fish are still not showing any signs.


Wednesdays open was on The New Canal and in 1st place on peg 10 was Dan Bowen with 124lb 07oz.

2nd was Rob White on peg 36 with 90lb.

3rd was Chris Wells peg 24 with 87lb 6oz.

Sundays open on The New Canal saw Jim Hart on peg 15 win, weighing 102lb 2oz, close behind was Alan Godrich on peg 36 with 101lb.

3rd peg 31 Andy Rogers with 98lb 14oz.

4th was Lou Spinks peg 10 with 92lb 11oz

5th Neil Daniels on peg 1 with 88lb 12oz.

On the Big Pit, Justin Davies had a good session with over ten carp.




Jaden Hill was on the Pleasure Lake where he caught his PB of 3lb. He had another spell on the Big Pit under the guidance of Steffan Wolf where he beat his PB again landing a lovely 10lb 7oz carp.



Steffan has had too many to count, up to 15lb. All fish caught on White Springs Boilies.




On The Specimen Lake, Adam Davies fishing on the Soil Shed had a nice session with 3 fish including ‘CTC’ at 29lb 2oz and ‘Trio’ at 36lb 12oz equalling his PB. All caught on CRI.





Simon Clayton continued his good streak with another good session on peg 7 including 26lb common, 27lb mirror and a lovely 29lb mirror.

On his first visit to White Springs Sion Donovan on peg 6 had a nice 24lb 4oz common.




Nick Richards on peg 3 had a nice 25lb mirror.




Angler of the week has to be Anthony Needs who started on peg 10 for a 24hr session and had a 16lb & 21lb mirrors.

He then had to move to 9A and after a couple of hours and landed a new PB, the absolutely stunning common called ‘Hobnob’, weighing in at a healthy 38lb 13oz.

All fish were caught using CR1.




To let everyone know from June 1st every angler on every lake at our complex must have antiseptic carp care treatment, to treat fish’s mouths, cuts, missing scales etc.

The week started off very wet on Monday and Tuesday but became sunny and hot the rest of the week the fishing has been very up and down.


 

Wednesday’s open was on the New Canal and out of 16 anglers. Alan Godrich on peg 16 won weighing in with 51lb.


 

2nd peg 10 Darren Parr 47lb 4oz.


 

3rd peg 38 Dean Powndall 45lb 8oz.


 

Sunday’s open was on the Match Lake and 1st on peg 14 was Dick Brunton 65lb 6oz.


 

2nd peg 11 Jim Hart with 58lb 8oz.


3rd peg 13 Andy Rodgers with 57lb 12oz.


4th peg 7 Lou Spinks 56lb 10oz.


 

On the New Canal Cwm Celyn had a club match.


 

1st was Mathew Edwards 51lb 8oz.


 

2nd Chris Shyland with 45lb.


3rd Adrian Mann with 41lb.


 

On the Big Pit Nathan Howells and Ben Williams had a good session with 10 carp and a bream, all caught on the ever faithful White Springs Banana and Cream and Toffee.







Dan Jones fishing the Big pit with his son William managed to set two new PB’s.


One being a 3lb 1oz Eel and the other a 4lb 2oz Perch, while his friend Steve Welch had another good session catching 4 perch best being 3lb 9oz along with some nice bream, carp and tench.








 

Husband and wife Tony and Gail Walters both had new pb’s also.





 

Tony had Nessie a lovely common at 34lb a new pb, then he had a mirror called Big B at 34lb 4oz beating his pb again.


 

Gail had 3 fish, the biggest being the stunning Bruno at 38lb 13oz a new pb as well and more importantly beating hubby Tony.




 

Nick Parker fished 6a and had a 22lb mirror.





 

Martin Mathews did the best on peg 6 landing 4 fish up to 23lb.


 

 

As from 1st June all anglers visiting our complex must have antiseptic carp care treatment with them so you can treat any damaged scales, mouths etc. helping us to keep our fish in tip top condition.

Wales v England and Other Catch Results.

It’s been a dry week with the temperature dropping with two mornings of hard frost.

Wednesdays open was on the Match Lake.


1st on peg 9 was Alan Godrich with 61lb.


2nd was Rob White on peg 13 with 51lb 2oz.


3rd on peg 21 was Jim Hart weighing 41lb 10oz.

 

White Springs Sunday open was on the New Canal.


1st was Dan Bowen on peg 5 weighing 125lb 6oz.


2nd on peg 19 was Alan Godrich with 108lb 8oz.


3rd on peg 27 was Chris Wells with 72lb 2oz.


 

On the Big Pit, Dan Jones was with his mate Steve Welch and had one of their best perch sessions ever.






Dan had his PB of 3lb 9oz; Steve had 4 perch at 3lb 10oz, 3lb 04oz, 2lb 15oz and a small one.


On the Specimen Lake Kris Jenkins on 8A had 4 takes and landed them all; he had a low double, 21lb common, 22lb mirror and a mirror known as ‘Big Jaffa’ at 35lb 05oz.






Connor Evans had a dream session on 9A catching a beautiful common at 38lb 10oz called ‘Bailey’ which was his PB. Half an hour later he had ‘Buttons’, another common at 31lb 10oz.




Neil Say on peg 11A equalled his PB with the stunning ‘Cheryl’ weighing in at a healthy 38lb 10oz, its top weight.


This weekend also saw the Ladies Anglo - Welsh competition. Tania Williams and Sam Hoskins had five fish including Sam’s PB, a cracking 38lb common. With the lake fishing hard they were the only peg to catch. But with 30 seconds left of the match, on peg 8A was Natalie Chapman who struck into a fish. With the hooter going she had 15 mins to land it. With it being the end of the match both teams gathered around as it was a big fish. With everyone watching she landed the awesome ‘Bruno’ which topped the scaled at 40lb dead.



What an ending to a great match. The Match was a draw on points but England won with the biggest total weight.

After another dry & sunny week, the fishery has been very busy.

 

Wednesdays open was on the Big Pit.

 

1st was DanBowen with 71lb 6oz.

 

2nd Alan Godrich with 69lb 3oz.

 

3rdChris Bradley 38lb.

 

Sunday’s open was on the Match Lake and in a close match DanBowen on peg 13 won weighing 69lb 4oz.

 

2nd was Scott Oldham on peg 14 with 69lb.

 

3rd peg 17 was Ben Hicks with 63lb 2oz.

 

4th peg 2 Chris wells 62lb 3oz.

 

5thSteve Beresford with 59lb 8oz.

 

Glamorgan Angling were on the New Canal and had a really good turn out with 23 anglers attending the match.

 

1st Rob Michael on peg 31 weighed 71lb.

 

2nd peg 35 was Johnny cox with 52lb 8oz.

 

3rd peg 17 with 51lb 4oz was Russ palmer.

 

On the Big Pit Tyler Rubery had some nice carp up to 16lb.




Rhys Levi John had a good session 8 carp mostly low doubles.





 

Another good week was had on the Specimen Lake with nine 30+ fish being landed.

 

On peg 8a Ashley Parry Trev lost one but landed a belter of a mirror called ‘Clover’ weighing 35lb 14oz his new PB.




Jason Larose was on Megs Corner and landed a lovely dark common called ‘Mr Tuts’ weighing in at 31lb 6oz.





 

Tony Walters on peg 10 landed a beauty called ‘Nessie’ at 34lb becoming his new PB.

 

Rob Davies fished peg 13 and had 2 fish including a 31lb 12oz common called ‘chunk’, his new PB caught using a White Springs Banana bottom bait.





Veteran angler Alan Davies had a good session on peg 8 with 6 fish including a stunning mirror ‘Double D’ weighing 31lb 14oz.


Angler of the week has to be Ethan Thomas on peg 7 starting his 24hr session with a nice 26lb mirror, he then landed ‘Big Jaffa’ at 33lb 12oz. Then another mirror to top off his session. He then landed a lovely common called ‘ Boyo’ at 33lb 10oz, all caught using CR1 baits.

The weather had been dry and sunny again this week and the fishery has been very busy.


Wednesdays open was on The Pleasure Lake and John Charlesworth was 1st weighing 75lb 4o.


2nd was Alan Godrich with 62lb 10oz.


 

3rd was Andy Kirtley with 45lb.


 

Sundays open saw a full Match Lake with everyone catching in a very close match.


Rob White on peg 11 was 1st with 53lb 12oz.


2nd on peg 22 was Chris Wells with 52lb.


3rd on peg 13 was Lou Spinks with 46lb 12oz.


4th on peg 20 was Alan Godrich with 45lb 12oz.


5th peg 9 Scott Oldham 45lb 10oz.


 

Sir Howy were on The New Canal on Sunday and on peg 8 Phil Weaver was 1st with 113lb 14oz.


2nd on peg 5 was Dai Evans with 102lb.


3rd was peg 33 Mike Yandell with 45lb 2oz.


4th on peg 18 was Phil Rawlings with 43lb 2oz.


On The Big Pit Rhys John had a good session with a few carp and a PB perch of 4lb. His brother also had a good session with 8 carp.




It’s been a very good week on The Specimen Lake with ten thirty’s being caught from all around the lake.


Ryan Morley had a 24hr session on peg 9 and had a beauty of a mirror called ‘The Don’ weighing 37lb 10oz, a new PB for Ryan. He then moved to 8A for another 24hr session and had another stunning mirror weighing in at 29lb 6oz almost another new 30 for the lake, all caught on CR1.





Rhys Harford caught his first fish from White Springs; he was on peg 8 and caught a cracking common weighing 30lb on the nose, which he aptly named ‘The Long Common’.




After visiting numerous times Shaun John Hanks finally caught a thirty, ‘The Warrior’ weighing in at 37lb 10oz off peg 7.




Nick Richards finally beat his 29lb PB on peg 3 with a lovely mirror weighing 37lb called ‘Trio’.


Will Curran from Liverpool beat his PB on peg 10, landing ‘Boyo’ a 34lb 13oz common.


Neil Jenkins on peg 6 had 5 fish including ‘Whiskers’ a 32lb 04oz mirror.


Gareth Vigors had a cracking session on 11A with seven fish including the elusive ‘Cut Tail’ a mirror weighing 31lb 06oz and a new PB as well.





Garren Calviel also had a new PB catching ‘Double D’ a stunning mirror weighing 32lb 09oz caught on peg 11A.




 

Angler of the week had to go to Craig Brown who had a 24hr on peg 6 and had 2 fish, with anglers not turning up for cabin 7 Craig moved on for his second 24hr.




An hour after setting up he had a double take, skilfully he managed to land both fish. He caught a common ‘The Chunk’ at 32lb 14oz and a mirror ‘Big Jaffa’ at 34lb. He finished his entire session with 6 fish in total. Well done on the rare double take of 30+ fish.

Early May Catch Results.

With the weather being dry and sunny at times, it’s been a busy week again here at the fishery.


Wednesdays open was on the New Canal and was won by Andy Rogers on peg 9 with 67lb.


2nd was Alan Godrich on peg 5 with 56lb 8oz.


3rd Lou Spinks peg 17 with 34lb 8oz.


 

Sunday’s open was on the New Canal and was won by Simon ‘beefy’ Beresford on peg 9 with 66lb.


2nd on peg 30 was Andy Kirtley with 65lb 2oz.


3rd on peg 14 was Andy Rogers weighing 42lb 8oz.


On the Big Pit Andrew Chilcott was on form again with his young lad who had a couple of fish and he’s even learnt to hold them properly now, well done young lad.





The Specimen Lake has fished very well this week with 10 thirty’s being landed and numerous 20+ fish as well.


Ashley Thompson fished peg 8 for a night and had nothing. He moved to peg 9 and just before he reeled his rods in to go, he was rewarded with his PB with an immaculate common known as Bruno weighing in at 39lb 10oz caught on White Springs Cream & Toffee and all on his birthday as well.



Fishing couple Georgia Griffiths and Mike Perry started on peg 6a for a 48hrs and blanked, but with a move to peg 11 for another 48hrs Georgia after 30min had a lovely common. Mike on his last day had his PB landing the awesome mirror Rambo weighing a healthy 38lb 8oz.




Luke John on peg 9a had his PB with the lovely common Tips at his biggest weight yet at 36lb 10oz.




Tom Bryant had a good session on cabin 7 with 3 fish including a new 30 for the lake a long time resident of the lake tipping the scale at 30lb 4oz a mirror now known as The Grey Lady caught using the ever faithful White Springs Banana.



Fishing couple Johnny Walker and Tyler Rubery were on peg 8a, Johnny had a nice 22lb Koi and Tyler had 2 fish, a common at 19lb and a mirror of 15lb.




Ryan Morley on peg 7 had six fish up to 22lb. He did land a 28lber but had foul hooked him in the tail. Shame as it would have been his PB. All fish were caught on CR1 bait.





Angler of the week has to be Simon Clayton on cabin 9 with a dream session landing 4 fish a 24lb 8oz, 28lb 13oz, Whiskers at 33lb 10oz and a new PB with Bailey 37lb 8oz.

With the Easter holidays and nice weather it’s been a busy week at White Springs.

Wednesdays open was on the Match Lake and Alan Godrich on peg 11 won weighing 91lb 7oz.

2nd on peg 15 was Steve O’Mara with 59lb 2 oz.

3rd Lou Spinks on peg 21 with 51lb 8oz.


Sundays open on The New Canal saw John Charlesworth on peg 13 weighing 78lb 2oz.

2nd was peg 23 Alan Godrich with 69lb 2oz.

3rd on peg 9 Jim Hart with 57lb 8oz.

4th peg 17 Andy Rodgers with 52lb 12oz.


Sir Howy were on The Match Lake on Sunday and Mikey Williams won with 98lb.

2nd was Ian Exall 96lb 11oz.

3rd was Phil Weaver 82lb 15oz

4th Rob Jones with 70lb 7oz.


Andrew Chilcott and his son(using his own rod for first time) were on the Big Pit and had over 25 fish.

Jamie Davies fishing on peg 8 had 2 fish, a 21lb mirror and a lovely 30lb 2oz common caught on White Springs banana wafters.

His mate Joseph Rosser also on peg 8 had a beautiful 14lb 8oz ghosty.


Fishing on peg 3 was Mark Boycie Boyes and caught the stunning Mr Tuts weighing his best weight of 31lb 9oz and a new PB as well.
David Knowels staying in one of our log cabins and only fishing the days had 2 fish including a lovely 31lb 9oz common called ‘Chunk’ and was also his PB.


Dylan Price Jones a member of the welsh junior carp team, after getting his first pay packet from his first job, the first place he wanted to come was White Springs.

He booked 9A and after about 2 hours he’d got a stunning mirror called ‘The Don’ on the bank weighing 38lb 2oz becoming his PB.

I have to say his fish care was exemplary especially for someone 16years of age, treating the fish with carp care, the handling of the fish, everything ready.

A pleasure to have you on our lake young man.

With the weather being sunny this week it’s been busy with anglers and the fishing had been pretty good.

2nd on peg 26 was James Thomas with 90lb 12oz.

3rd on peg 1was Alan Godrich with 79lb.

4th on peg 13 was Mick Brown with 72lb 4oz.


Sundays open was on The New Canal.

Andy Rogers on peg 8 won weighing with 83lb 14oz.

2nd on peg 29 was Alan Godrich with 74lb 2oz.

3rd on peg 19 was Matthew Edwards with 70lb

4th on peg 23 was Hot Dog with 63lb 13oz.


Angling club ‘One Last Cast’ were on The Match Lake on Sunday.

1st was Milo Clarke with 88lb 3oz.

2nd Darren with 55lb.

3rd was Steven Roberts with 53lb 7oz.


James Bibb had a good day on The Big Pit beating his PB twice with a 15lb and then a 17lb, caught on a White Springs banana pop-up.


Lee Hancock and his young lad had over 18 fish on the Big Pit, including a lovely mirror at 18lb.


Andrew Rees had a stunning common off peg 2 on the Specimen Lake weighing 29lb 9oz.

Bill O’sullivan on peg 7 had two fish, including a lovely common at 31lb.

Martin Matthews fishing on the Soil Shed had another good weekend with 7 fish including the stunning mirror ‘Clover’ weighing 36lb 4oz.

It was a wet start to the week but from Friday and through the weekend the weather has been beautiful and the fishing has been pretty good on all lakes.

White Springs open on Wednesday was on the Match Lake and produced good weights from all around.

1st Rob White on peg 14 weighed 91lb 12oz.

2nd Jim Hart peg 7 had 85lb.

3rd on peg 13 was Alan Godrich with 84lb 08oz.

4th on peg 21 had 70lb.

The open on Sunday on the Match Lake saw Dick Brunton on peg 7 win with 85lb 15oz.

2nd on peg 14 Andy Kirtley came with 50lb.

3rd on peg 19 was Andy Rogers 45lb 06oz

4th Steve Omara peg 11 was with 37lb 08oz.


On Sunday Aberglais were on the New Canal.

1st on peg 13 was Mark Williams with 108lb 12oz.

2nd Ryan Morgan on peg 9 with 85lb 14oz.

3rd on peg 26 was Graeme Davis with 55lb 03oz.

4th Paddy Payne on peg 1 with 51lb 07oz.


On the Big Pit Dave Thomas from Briton Ferry has been trying to catch a 3lb perch for a long time. Well on Sunday his dreams came true, catching a 4lb 12oz, 3lb 10oz and two 3lb 08oz, one of which he did foul hook. He was delighted.


Tyrone Smith fishing on the Big Pit had 3 fish including his PB a beautiful mirror weighing 21lb, all caught using White Springs banana.


On the Pleasure Lake Jake Davies had 30 carp fishing 24hrs, the biggest a 19lb common, all caught on White Springs Cream & Toffee.


The Specimen Lake has been fishing really well this week with a 40+ and 6 30+s being caught.

Andrew Llewellyn on peg 7 had 5 fish including a 23lb, 25lb and ‘Double D’ a beautiful mirror at 31lb.

Anthony George on peg 10 caught his PB, ‘The Turk’ weighing 33lb 03oz.

Martin Keoghan on peg 8 had a cracking session with 3 fish, including 2 30’s, Martin had the stunning common ‘Bailey’ at 38lb 03oz, and ‘Whiskers’ a nice mirror at 31lb 14oz which is the first time it’s been caught this year.


White Springs regular Martin Matthews had another good weekend on the Soil Shed with 5 fish including the stunning ‘Hob Nob’ weighing 37lb 04oz.


Fisherman of the week has to be Gazza Walker from Wolverhampton, fishing at White Springs for the first time. Gazza had peg 10 on Friday and after a couple of hours landed the stunning ‘Bruno’ weighing in at a whopping 40lb 13oz, its top weight and a new PB as well.

Gazza had 5 runs and landed 3, a 19lb mirror and a 17lb ghosty.

The weather has been good this week with sunny days but chilly nights, and the fishing has been pretty good.

The Wednesday open was on the New Canal and Rob White won off peg 26 with 91lb 8oz.

2nd was Jim Hart 42lb 12oz.

3rd Chris Bradley 38lb 6oz.

Sunday’s open was also on the New Canal and everyone had a good days fishing.

Austin Roberts on peg 30 won with 62lb 12oz.

2nd was Andy Kirtley with 57lb.

3rd was Charlie Rowlins 42lb 1oz.

4th Steven Beresford with 41lb 4oz.

On the Big Pit Tyrone Smith had a good session landing 14 fish.

The biggest an 18lb 2oz which was his PB.

All fish were caught using White Springs Banana.

Rhys John fishing for carp had a nice 2lb perch on the pit.

On the Specimen Lake welsh carp team member Natalie May was on peg 2 and caught her new PB a fish called Nails weighing in at 28lb 11oz. Natalie and her welsh team mates have a match on the Specimen Lake on 28th April against England.

Martin Mathews on peg 6 caught CTC’s Cousin weighing 30lb.

On peg 7, Jason Canter caught a 33lb 4oz mirror Known as Charlie and became his PB as-well.

Angler of the week has to be Ian Lovering fishing on the old cabin hasn’t caught a 30lb plus fish for 3 years, had 2 30’s in 24hrs 1st fish on Sunday night a stunning mirror called Trio 35lb 3oz, then on Monday morning he caught an Absolute stunning mirror weighing in at 35lb 8oz.

At the fishery this week we had 750 carp from VS Fisheries that were stocked in the Match Lake and New Canal. All the fish were between 1lb and 1lb 8oz and were absolute stunners. The open on Wednesday was on the Match Lake and Alan Godrich won with 51lb 9oz.

2nd was Jim hart 27lb 9oz.

3rd Steve O’Mara 21lb 14oz.

On Sunday it was the final round of the winter league on the New Canal.

Adam Mitchell won with 85lb.

2nd was Mike Yandle with 76lb.

3rd was Rob Jones 74lb.

4th was John Harvey 73lb.

On the Match Lake Danny Baker won with 110lb.

2nd Mikey Williams with 65lb.

3rd was Winky 44lb.

The overall standings finished.

1st John Harvey.

2nd Danny Baker.

3rd Rob Jones.

4th Nigel Morris.

5th James Thomas.

On the Big Pit Tyrone Smith had a good day with some nice fish and a PB.

On the Specimen Lake Gavin Wellington fished for the first time this year and had five fish including a 36lb 2oz mirror called Trio, Gavin used the White Springs Cream and Toffee pop ups.

Alan Harris fished the Island swim and had his Pb of 29lb 14oz, a lovely common.

Angler of the week has to be Rhys Ley doing a 48hr on cabin 8. Rhys started of with a 29lb mirror, later that evening he caught the much sought after common Bruno at 39lb 10oz which was a new PB.

The next day he went and caught another beauty. A mirror called The Don weighing 36lb 8oz. Rhys caught them all on the White Springs Banana pop ups.

The weather has been a lot milder and drier this week and the fishing has been pretty good.

 

The open on Wednesday was on the Match Lake and Jim Hart won weighing 48lb, close behind was Chris Bradley with 47lb and 3rd was Alan Godrich with 37lb.

 

Sundays open was on the Big Pit and Alan Godrich came 1st with 81lb 04oz.

 

2nd was Jim Hart 32lb 05oz.

 

3rd was Andy Kirtley with 19lb 04oz.

 

The Winter League had their 5th round on the Match Lake.

 

Chris Wells on peg 25 won with 64lb 10oz.

 

2nd was John Harvey with 55lb 05 oz.

 

3rd was James Thomas with 50lb.

 

4th was Ian Exall with 46lb 05oz.

 

 

On the New Canal, Luke Sorokin came 1st weighing 58lb 10oz.

 

2nd Mark Jones 53lb 14oz.

 

3rd Danny Baker with 51lb.

 

4th was Peter Williams with 41lb 08oz.

 

The lakes all fished well with good weights coming from most pegs.

 

We are also proud to announce that we are having a delivery of 750 fish about 1 – 1.5lb from V.S fisheries the end of the week that will be stocked into our Match Lakes.

 

On the Specimen Lake the fish are continuing to come out regularly.

 

Jamie Rutherford had a cracking 48hr session on peg 2 landing six fish including an old fish that’s almost got to 30lb, the fish a nice mirror weighed in at 29lb 14oz.

 

 

Rhodri Caddy on the Soil Shed beat his PB catching ‘Sonny’ a lovely common weighing 34lb exact.

 

 

Another PB landing a stunning mirror weighing 34lb 12oz, as it’s a new 30lber, Jamie named it ‘Trio’.

 

 

White Springs pop-ups working well again.

 

 

 

Thomas Samuels on peg 7 beat his PB landing ‘Warrior’ a cracking mirror weighing 38lb 07oz up in weight by nearly 2lb.

 

 

Another angler who did well was Geremino Capaldi on peg 6 landing four fish. A nice ghostie of 19lb, a 22lb common, 26lb 08oz mirror and a mirror called ‘Turk’ weighing 32lb 08oz at his biggest weight and a new PB as well.

The weather has been cold and wet this week and the fishing has been hard.

 

Wednesdays open was on the Match Lake and Alan Taylor won with 39lb.

 

2nd was Alan Godrich with 34lb 12oz.

 

3rd was Jim Hart 32lb 08oz.

 

Sundays open was on the New Canal and Jim Hart won with 28lb of silvers.

 

2nd was Alan Godrich with 22lb 04oz.

 

3rd Andrew Ford 18lb 04oz.

 

Aberglais angling were on the Match Lake and the winner was Mark Jones with 34lb.

 

2nd was Paddy Payne with 23lb.

 

3rd was Frank Davis 20lb 08oz.

 

On the Specimen Lake, which has been fishing very well over the past two weeks with most pegs producing.

 

Andrew Rees had a dream midweek 48hr session on peg 7. His first fish was a 22lb 04oz mirror, he then caught his PB a lovely mirror at 25lb 10oz, his next fish was a stunning common known as ‘Bailey’ smashing hi PB again. It weighed in at 37lb 12oz.

 

 

Andrew was absolutely buzzing and just to top his session off after a hell of a battle he landed another beautiful common weighing 32lb 08oz, Andrew named it ‘Chunk’.

 

 

Another angler to have a good session was Steven Hughes on the Old Cabin. On Saturday morning he landed a lovely 33lb mirror called ‘Captain Hook’.

 

 

Then on Sunday morning he was in again after a 20min battle. He had a cracking common weighing 33lb 02oz on the bank after years of fishing it was the first time he’d had 2x30+ fish in a session.

 

 

Well done on some good angling and PB’s lads.

The fishing has been up and down again this week with some good weights on days and bad weights on others.

 

The White Springs open was on the Big Pit on Wednesday.

 

Alan Godrich came 1st with 61lb 12oz.

 

2nd was Rob White with 41lb 08oz.

 

3rd was Jim Hart with 14lb 12oz.

 

Sundays open was on The New Canal which saw Alan Godrich win again with 76lb 08oz.

 

2nd was Chris Bradley with 31lb 07oz.

 

3rd was Steven Beresford with 19lb 12oz.

 

Rhys Levi John braved the terrible weather on The Big Pit catching several carp in a 24hr session.

 

 

 

Jamie Davies had six fish on the Pleasure Lake including a couple of nice doubles all caught using White Springs Banana pop ups over a bed of freebies.

 

On the Specimen Lake the fish have been flying out with over forty fish being caught this week.

 

Simon Neale did a quick overnighter on the Soil Shed landing three fish including a beautiful 26lb 10oz leather. All caught using White Springs Cream & Toffee pop ups.

 

 

 

On the old cabin Edward Anthony and his daughter Carys had a good week catching six fish each.

 

Carys had four nice 20s including a nice 24lb 06oz mirror. Edward had three nice 20s including a 26lb 07oz common.

 

 

 

 

Angler of the week is Ryan Donahoe who had peg 11 for 24hrs and caught a stunning mirror. A personal best of 37lb 06oz. He then had to move to 11A for 24hrs and caught a lovely 21lb 08oz leather.

 

 

 

Both caught on the White Spring’s Banana Wafters. Well done lad.

It’s been a busy week at the fishery on all of the lakes.

 

The Winter league had its fourth round and on the New Canal.

 

Danny Baker came 1st with 60lb 12oz.

 

2nd was John Harvey weighing in with 57lb 14oz.

 

3rd was Robert Jones with 42lb 10oz.

 

On the Match Lake Adam Mitchel was 1st with 47lb 03oz.

 

2nd was James Thomas with 43lb 10oz.

 

3rd was Chris Jones with 42lb 05oz.

 

The White Springs open was on the Pleasure Lake and Graham Davies came 1st weighing 35lb.

 

2nd was Brian Protheroe with 24lb 08oz.

 

3rd was Alan Godrich with 23lb 14oz.

 

Tyrone Smith had a nice ten pounder on the Big Pit.

 

Mike Jones had a couple of nice Perch on the Pleasure Lake the biggest at 3lb.

 

On the Specimen Lake, Ethan Thomas showed that hard work and persistence pays off, after months of trying to catch a 30 from White Springs he finally got one.

 

Fishing off the Old Cabin he landed a new thirty for the lake, a stunning 32lb 02oz mirror which he named ‘Double D’.

 

 

Carl Buttons had two fish including his PB. A beautiful common weighing 32lb 04oz called ‘Button’.

With the weather still wet and cold, the fishing is very up and down.

 

The open on Wednesday was on the New Canal with Dan Bowen winning with 52lb 3oz.

 

2nd was Rob Jones with 25lb.

 

3rd was Alan Godrich with 23lb.

 

Sunday was White Springs winter leagues 3rd round on the New Canal.

 

Ben Hicks had a good day weighing 95lb 05oz.

 

2nd was Chris Wells with 36lb 02oz.

 

3rd was Bob Giles with 50lb 13oz.

 

On the Match Lake John Harvey won with 36lb 02oz.

 

2nd was Sean McCarthy with 30lb 04oz.

 

On the Big Pit Jamie Davies had a few nice carp using White Springs Banana pink and white pop-ups.

 

 

 

The Specimen Lake has come alive this week with over thirty fish coming out.

 

John Flewin continued his hot streak having three fish off the soil shed including another ‘A’ team member ‘CTC’ weighing 31lb 10oz.

 

James Morgan on peg 10 beat his PB landing the stunning Rambo weighing 38lb 02oz.

 

 

 

 

Jason Hook on peg 7 had a nice brace with a 21lb mirror. He then landed a new thirty for the lake a beautiful 32lb mirror which Jason named ‘Captain Hook’.
