The weather has been very warm bringing the fish up in the water, making it interesting fishing for all, with some days being harder than others to catch. The canals and the match lake fishing has been good with some nice weights being reported by the anglers.
Victor Hopkins weighing in 111lb midweek while Richy Powell had a good day on the pleasure lake landing a 2 and a quarter pound roach with some very nice bream at around the 5lb mark. The New canal produced a 14lb 2 common carp off peg 16 for a visiting angler.
Visiting angler Kyle Dylan fished the Pit to land a storming 12 fish within a 24 hour session with a 21lb common being the best weight using popups.
Gareth Gabe and Jamie Oldham done a 3 day session on the specimen lake to land 15 carp including a 30lb and 29lb, 22lb, 20lb, 18lb, and 15lb mirrors with a a 27lb Koi gracing the bank as well.
Another angler from Stoke on Trent landed a 31lb4 Mirror from the Island Peg.
The place to be has been the pleasure and match lakes which have been on fire with the warmer weather with bags in excess of 100lb being reported using baits such as dog biscuit whilst popups and paste on the pleasure lake.
The fishery is now tightening down on people leaving litter as the first two anglers have been banned for leaving their swims strewn with litter after being warned to clean up and not to leave litter behind. White Springs regrets having to take such action however the majority of people are in agreement that keeping the site litter free is a top priority and we have been working consistantly over the last couple of months to make this a reality. Any visitors are reminded that they must take their litter home and can ask at the tackle shop for a bin bag which is provided free of charge.
