Winter has certainly paid a visit to the fishery this week with frosts and wintery rain on most days, and the fishing has been hard.
Wednesdays open was on the New Canal.
1st peg 27 Alan Godrich 46lb 8oz.
2nd peg 17 Paddy Paine 28lb 4oz.
3rd peg 10 Brian Protheroe 27lb 5oz.
Sundays open was on the Match Lake.
1st peg 14 Andrew Wray 51lb 12oz.
2nd peg 7 Andy Rodgers 51lb 8oz.
3rd peg 2 Dick Brunton 44lb 12oz.
On Sunday Sir Howy were on the New Canal.
1st peg 27 Phil Wrawlings 62lb 6oz.
2nd peg 5 Keith Wilcox 42lb 2oz.
3rd peg 31 Dai Evans 37lb 6oz.
4th Peg 14 Andrew Ford 33lb 10oz.
5th peg 5 Nigel Morris 32lb 8oz.
Dave Roberts has been fishing the Big Pit and caught a stunning specimen Perch weighing a healthy 4lb 69oz, Chris Ellis also fishing the Big Pit had numerous carp including a double figure Ghosty.
On the Pleasure Lake John Evans had a good day landing 40lb of silvers.
On the Specimen Lake Graeme Andrews on peg 6 saved a blank with a 20lb 3oz mirror. Neil Say fished peg 8 and caught a mint 24lb 8oz mirror.
Stuart Davies fished the Island and caught 3 fish. 1st fish a mid-double 2nd a 22lb 5oz mirror and a new Pb, and he then broke his Pb again with a stunning 27lb 2oz mirror.
Simon Clayton fished cabin 7 and beat his Pb again landing a 38lb 6oz mirror known as ‘Warrior’
