Guestbook

This is where you can say a simple Hello to the people at White Springs. Please note that there is no magic bait or magic swim at White Springs, sometimes one bait will catch 20 fish and the next day nothing, that is the nature of fishing. Please read the News and Events Catch reports for hints on what is popular baits to use and questions with regards to features and swims and baits are best asked in tackle shop or on the bank. Please also bear in mind that this is an unmanned site and is not maintained from the fishery itself.

Also if you have queries regarding accomadation then you will have to ring (01792) 885699 for answers, as the website and bookings are seperate and I cannot tell you if something is booked or not.

There are no hard and fast rules for the Speci lake however the pegs from Megans Corner on the old cabin side of the lake and the soil shed area seems to be fishing well lately but then everyone has their own favourites, if you are new i suggest you read the catch reports as we mention the pegs whenever possible, if not you can work out where they are from the photos, you can ask which pegs are which in the tackle shop, be patient and good luck.

hello again guys well I did pop down to springs thursday to take a look.
On Friday we went there and fished the speci lake for the day.
I didnt bank any fish but had quite a few beeps on my alarms but alas NO fish lol.
I think and feel it could have been some pesky bream messing with my bait.
The upside of it was it was my home made boilies that got their attention.
I would like to thank the couple of young lads of 15 that came over to chat to me and made me feel welcome so guys you know who you are and thank you.
It was a good day weather wise and Kathryn and I did enjoy our day out there ans we are looking forward to our week there end of May.
Thanks to Vince and his good Lady too for the warm welcome. see you soon at springs
tight lines guys
all the best
John.

hi guys as I am in the area on thursday /friday I thought I would pop in to have a look around at springs. I got my lovely Kathryn to load my fishing gear into my car and if there is a space on the speci lake I might BEG vince to let me pay for a day fishing it.We are stopping at the travel loge at j47 on the M4 visiting reletives in Swansea and hoping for a day fishing Friday to see how it is there before my week on the speci lake end of May beginning of June.
I hope to get my lines in Friday as I havnt fished since September because of health and weather problems. I wont have my caravan with me but I will be in my wheelchair so if you see me give me a shout lol.
tight lines guys
Regards
John.

@ Mike your question was missed by myself, in fairness this is supposed to be a guestbook rather than a FAQ or Forum and in fairness Im a webmaster here not a specimen lake expert. Your question is best asked in the tackle shop or actually on the bank rather than answered here as it is too difficult to point out the lakes features by typing and I am not sure of them anyway to be able to advise properly, Vince would be the best person to ask as he built the lake in the first place and can show you where the features are, fishing to islands and in the margins produce normally and the bottom is made of silt, there are weedbeds, lilypads in summer, gravel bars and channels in the lake however explaining them to you is impossible on here and would take up pages and apart from that you never said what you were fishing for or what swim kinda makes it impossible to answer you. As for baits why not try reading the New and Events pages and you will see what baits are catching, mostly different baits work at different times and if we knew what baits worked everytime on the lake we would all be catching fish now wouldnt we :P It isnt that we dont want to answer you Mike its just as you learn more about fishing you understand why we couldnt answer you.

It has elec, light, fridge, microwave, only and possibly a tv (if so you will have to bring ariel, scart lead and freeview box in order for it to work)
There is a kitchen unit with worktop as well.
Hope that helps you

Thanks Mike, I was looking at TFgear X-Sleep Extreme bag in the catologue today (£49.99). I was also looking at the Primal Force 8 which comes with a Force 8 Storm skin for £89.99. Do you think it is worth the extra £40? Niether mention what 'season' they are?
mike says...
tony, your best bet is to get a 4or5 season sleeping bag for all year round use ,i use a tfgear xtream bag ,well recomended ,
