The weather had been dry and sunny again this week and the fishery has been very busy.
Wednesdays open was on The Pleasure Lake and John Charlesworth was 1st weighing 75lb 4o.
2nd was Alan Godrich with 62lb 10oz.
3rd was Andy Kirtley with 45lb.
Sundays open saw a full Match Lake with everyone catching in a very close match.
Rob White on peg 11 was 1st with 53lb 12oz.
2nd on peg 22 was Chris Wells with 52lb.
3rd on peg 13 was Lou Spinks with 46lb 12oz.
4th on peg 20 was Alan Godrich with 45lb 12oz.
5th peg 9 Scott Oldham 45lb 10oz.
Sir Howy were on The New Canal on Sunday and on peg 8 Phil Weaver was 1st with 113lb 14oz.
2nd on peg 5 was Dai Evans with 102lb.
3rd was peg 33 Mike Yandell with 45lb 2oz.
4th on peg 18 was Phil Rawlings with 43lb 2oz.
On The Big Pit Rhys John had a good session with a few carp and a PB perch of 4lb. His brother also had a good session with 8 carp.
It’s been a very good week on The Specimen Lake with ten thirty’s being caught from all around the lake.
Ryan Morley had a 24hr session on peg 9 and had a beauty of a mirror called ‘The Don’ weighing 37lb 10oz, a new PB for Ryan. He then moved to 8A for another 24hr session and had another stunning mirror weighing in at 29lb 6oz almost another new 30 for the lake, all caught on CR1.
Rhys Harford caught his first fish from White Springs; he was on peg 8 and caught a cracking common weighing 30lb on the nose, which he aptly named ‘The Long Common’.
After visiting numerous times Shaun John Hanks finally caught a thirty, ‘The Warrior’ weighing in at 37lb 10oz off peg 7.
Nick Richards finally beat his 29lb PB on peg 3 with a lovely mirror weighing 37lb called ‘Trio’.
Will Curran from Liverpool beat his PB on peg 10, landing ‘Boyo’ a 34lb 13oz common.
Neil Jenkins on peg 6 had 5 fish including ‘Whiskers’ a 32lb 04oz mirror.
Gareth Vigors had a cracking session on 11A with seven fish including the elusive ‘Cut Tail’ a mirror weighing 31lb 06oz and a new PB as well.
Garren Calviel also had a new PB catching ‘Double D’ a stunning mirror weighing 32lb 09oz caught on peg 11A.
Angler of the week had to go to Craig Brown who had a 24hr on peg 6 and had 2 fish, with anglers not turning up for cabin 7 Craig moved on for his second 24hr.
An hour after setting up he had a double take, skilfully he managed to land both fish. He caught a common ‘The Chunk’ at 32lb 14oz and a mirror ‘Big Jaffa’ at 34lb. He finished his entire session with 6 fish in total. Well done on the rare double take of 30+ fish.
